Welcome to Immanuel Lutheran Church & School

Immanuel still sits on a portion of the original forty acres of land purchased by the founding members of our congregation in the year 1846. Immanuel's campus sweeps upward from the shore of the river, first gradually, and then more steeply - at the pinnacle of a hill is found the congregation's cemetery. Located on our campus is the current church building constructed in 1883, school buildings, a teacherage, a parsonage, a playground, soccer and baseball fields, a basketball court, and a cemetery.

Since 1847, Immanuel Lutheran Church ("The River Church") has proclaimed the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ without reservation. All people have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. We all remain in desperate need of the forgiveness of sins which only Jesus can bring. Thanks be to God, that our Lord Jesus does grant repentance and faith in Jesus for that forgiveness which He won by His cross and resurrection. Together as a Christian congregation we are committed to proclaiming God's Word in its truth and purity and administering the Sacraments according to Christ's institution. As the forgiven people of God, we rejoice in God's gifts of life and salvation.
