Our Mission Statement
Immanuel Lutheran School exists to bring all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge to the next generation of believers – equipping them with reliable academic content for this life and with the unchanging word of God for this life and the life yet to come.
Immanuel Lutheran School reflects its purpose…
through an unflinching confession of the Gospel, for Jesus Christ is our sure and only hope in the struggle against sin, death, and satan (Ephesians 2:8-9)
through daily instruction in the Holy Scriptures and a clear confession that the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16)
through daily instruction in the Small Catechism and a clear confession that the Book of Concord of 1580 is a correct exposition of Holy Scripture (Jeremiah 23:28)
through the provision of sound training and discipline and by encouraging and assisting fathers and mothers as they fulfill their vocation of raising children in the faith (Ephesians 6:4)
through participation in the liturgical life of the church while at school and by offering guidance and support to families in the same (Deuteronomy 6:6-7)
through respecting vocation and inspiring students towards faithful service at home, at church and in the civil realm/community (1 Peter 4:10)
through the fostering of upright and pious habits encouraging kindness, goodness, gentleness and all virtue which flows from God’s Word and Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23)
through developing a peaceful atmosphere, filled with truth, goodness, and beauty (Hebrews 12:14)
through offering our students a generous feast of great and noble ideas by way of the preparation for and exposure to the classics (Philippians 4:8)
through encouraging our students towards curiosity and inquiry, providing them with opportunity for wonder (Psalm 19:1)
through the use of solid academic resources and instructional methods which have stood the test of time, flowing out of the rich pedagogical heritage of the Lutheran Church (2 Thessalonians 2:15)
Trends in Education
Did you know that American educational theory has undergone radical changes over the course of the last one hundred years? Most of these changes do not relate to the advent of technology or new vocational needs within society, but to a false understanding of man and a denial of fundamental, Biblical truths. Modern pedagogical methods and many popular educational resources find their source in a worldview which conflicts with the Christian faith.
