Nicole Centgraf
K–7 Literacy, Latin, and Literature Teacher

Bio
Ms. Nicole Centgraf teaches full-time at Immanuel, focusing primarily on K-5 Literacy, Latin, and Literature. She also works with our administration and staff coordinating curriculum and ensuring that each of our students are growing in all academic areas.
In addition to receiving a bachelor’s degree in Literature with a minor in Philosophy from Wisconsin Lutheran College, Ms. Centgraf’s penchant for languages has led her down many academic avenues: studies in Latin and Biblical Greek, completion of the Albanian Language program at the Critical Languages Institute at ASU, and many years of self-directed studies in explicit and systematic phonics instruction, the classical pedagogical practices of narration, memorization, and recitation, and how to engage even our youngest students in the great books. She is currently working on the creation of an integrated classical literacy curriculum that fits the needs of our mixed-grade classroom.
Ms. Centgraf previously taught literature and composition at Preca College in Korça, Albania, and also served as an ESL instructor in Tirana, Albania, for many years. Prior to earning her degree at WLC, she taught Sunday School, ballet, and choreographed a few pieces for community theater.
In addition to her work in the field of education, Ms. Centgraf is co-owner of Centgraf Farms, which grows and markets produce to many award-winning restaurants in Milwaukee and sells directly to consumers at various Wisconsin farmer’s markets. Nicole is also the mother of two very bright and sweet children, Albi and Ellie, who are current Immanuel Dayschool students.
Ms. Centgraf has been a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church since 2015.
